Dorothy's Place Hospitality Center and Kitchen. As the largest congregate meal program on California's Central Coast, the Franciscan Workers who run Dorothy's Place have been joined by scores of foundations and grant making bodies, invidual volunteers, faith congregations, civic groups and students who have generously donated their time, food and funds to make Dorothy's Kitchen and Hospitality Center a bright, friendly and hospitable oasis for the men, women, and children who are our guests.

SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, every day of the year, Dorothy's Kitchen offers breakfast and lunch to anyone and everyone. Milk, bread, and canned goods are also given along with smiles, respect, and unconditional love. With the help of donors, community volunteers, local churches, temples, schools and organizations, Dorothy's Kitchen ia a place of grace, friendship, and compassion.

Dorothy's Place Health Care Clinic compliments the other services offered at the Hospitality Center by providing on-site availability of medical services. Volunteer doctors, nurses, and students from Hartnell College nursing program staff the Clinic on a weekly basis and have had 3,359 patient contacts since our grand opening in August of 1996.

The Day Room offers the blessing of a day shelter in an environment of peace and healing to our guests. It fosters communication and relationships among staff Franciscan Workers and guests. The Day Room also provides free services such as showers, laundry, local telephone calls, a mailing address, rest room facilities, access to computers, and more.
